WHAT IS NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?

Nutritional therapy is a complementary and holistic therapy.

It works with your diet and lifestyle to ensure your body has the full range of nutrients it needs to work to its full potential, and to help combat any disorders you may suffer with.

Nutritional therapy is suitable for all ages, from babies to the elderley, and can work alongside orthodox medicine.

Nutritional therapy is also useful in helping you to keep fit and well by advising individuals on nutritional issues such as free radical damage, bone building minerals, good fats, digestive health, and the benefits of water consumption etc. It therefore plays a role in preventative healthcare.

Following a consultation, a nutritional therapy programme will be devised that is specific to your needs and state of health. Your programme may involve dietary changes, lifestyle changes and a supplement programme. If supplements are recommended you will be given details of where these can be obtained.

WHO MAY BENEFIT FROM NUTRITIONAL THERAPY?
If you answer YES to any of the following questions
you may benefit from a
nutritional therapy consultation:

4. Are you interested in vitamin/mineral/nutrient supplementation?

Follow up =

Initial consultation: approximately 1 hour

Follow up consultation: approximately 1/2 hour

Family Consultations can be arranged (a different fee structure applies)

Home visits may be possible under certain circumstances (travelling time will be charged)

It is usually helpful to have a follow up consultation in order to check progress, adjust any dietary changes and supplement programmes or to discuss any test results. This will of course depend on your health goals and issues.

FUNCTIONAL TESTS
Depending on your health concerns and goals, tests may be helpful in order to gather information about any underlying imbalances you may have.
A range of tests can be performed such as hair mineral analysis, allergy screens, female and male hormone profiles, adrenal stress tests, fatty acid screens, parasitology and gut function tests etc.

If it is felt that a test would contribute useful information to plan your nutritional therapy programme this will be discussed with you at your consultation.

If you have any questions about tests that can be performed please do not hesitate to ask.

A test will not always be necessary, this will very much depend on your health concerns and goals.
